Attention CDEA Members – we know you are all leaders and can engage an audience! Please consider proposing an Ignite Session idea for our upcoming conference, drawing on the wisdom that you have developed in your career, no matter if you are emerging, established or a master/veteran teacher. This is a short-format presentation, conversation or experiential time, usually 20-30 minutes and is generally low-tech, done in conversation circles and exploratory in nature. Concurrent sessions happen in different areas of the dance spaces and attendees shift to the next ignite session with a new set of themes to choose from.
Topics can include: Your curricular choices, your site’s solutions to various arts education challenges, your pedagogy, your outreach, your use of standards, your ways of building equitable programs, your research, your choreographic process, your approach to issues of equity, diversity, social justice, ableism, gender, cultural breadth and language acquisition. We are interested in your discoveries about funding, flooring, flexibility, and your ways of navigating the career and your business partnerships. We want all presenters to be open to bringing in the widest array of ideas, we only ask that you consider the way bodies move and minds change or transform in light of the work, the findings, the practices and the questions you are presenting.
It is simple to fill out!
Ignite proposals are due October 1.
Presenters will be notified by October 15.
We will announce all Ignite sessions in November.
Call for Volunteers: If financial hardship makes conference registration prohibitive for any of our members, please let us know by emailing us at CDEAdance.firstname.lastname@example.org and we will consider what work-study options we have. We ask that potential Volunteers contact us by October 1. Thank you!
