Allison Frenzel
CA STATE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION

Allison Frenzel is an education programs specialist with the California Department of Education’s (CDE) Academy, Apprenticeship, and Internships Office. She supports Arts, Media, and Entertainment (AME) Career Technical Education (CTE) programs in the state of California and is the Youth Apprenticeship lead for CDE. Prior to her work at CDE, Allison spent 15 years as a classroom teacher and program coordinator in Sonoma County, and founded Pulse Arts, a 501(c)3 dedicated to connecting professional creatives and public education. She currently chairs the youth apprenticeship committee for the California Department of Industrial Relations, is an advisor for the California Arts Council’s Creative Economy Workgroup and Arts4LA’s Creative Jobs Initiative, chairs the Southern California Apprenticeship Network’s Best Practices subcommittee, and co-founded the Entertainment Equity Alliance.  Through programs like the AME Workforce Development and Youth Apprenticeship Initiative, the Hip Hop Education and Equity Initiative, and the California Film Commission’s AME Career Readiness Initiative, Allison's work is centered around increasing representation and creating career access points for individuals across AME.
