Franchesca Cabrera

Franchesca Marisol Cabrera, MA is a performing artist, dance educator, arts administrator and advocate. She received her BA in World Arts and Cultures from UCLA, and her MA from NYU in Arts Education. Her performing career has taken her around the globe in the styles of Flamenco, Classical Spanish, Baroque and Mexican Folklorico and artistic collaborations include 5 seasons with Company XIV and 2 seasons at The Metropolitan Opera. She has over 10 years of teaching experience in a pre-professional dance school setting working with ages 5-18 in Flamenco and Spanish Dance. She has been a guest choreographer and instructor featured on Sesame Street and the Juilliard Dance Department. She is a proud member of the Latinx Dance Educators Alliance, a consortium of Latinx/a/o and Hispanic dance educators who are invested in vetting, sourcing, and further developing resources and highlighting the contributions of Latinx/a/o and Hispanic dance educators. In 2022, she founded the Academia de Folklorico at Franklin School in Santa Barbara and it was recently awarded a California Exemplary Arts Award providing high quality arts instruction during the school day.
