Myra Joy Veluz achieved remarkable success with numerous scholarships and performing opportunities early in her career, including 2by2.net's All Star Summer Jam and the Stars of Tomorrow European Tour. She went on to perform commercially and in the concert dance world, notably with Blue13 Dance Company. Joy committed the next steps of her career to teaching. Her dedication was recognized upon her selection for NDEO’s CAN Teacher Leader Project, one of only 15 dance educators in the United States to receive this honor. Moreover, she holds positions as an Adjunct Professor at PCC and a Resource Team member at USC’s Glorya Kaufman School of Dance. Additionally, Joy’s acceptance into the 2023 Fulbright Specialist Roster marks a significant accomplishment. Beyond academia, she has made notable contributions to the arts as a Board Member for Boston Court Pasadena and a panelist for the LA City Department of Cultural Affairs.
